About

Master Class is a week-long intensive for UK-based early career artists, developed in collaboration with artist Doug Fishbone, taking place online from 10 - 17 May 2021.

Now in its 9th year, Master Class offers a unique and free opportunity for emerging artists selected through a national Open Call. Over the course of a week, the participants will work closely with leading international artists and key arts professionals to discuss and develop their individual practices. For the first time in 2021, Master Class will take place online, with all talks, tutorials, crits, and gallery visits taking place virtually on digital platforms.

This year the guest artist tutors are Ryan Gander, Isaac Julien, Julia Scher and Emma Talbot.

The artists participating in this year’s initiative are: Gerard Carson (Northern Ireland), Robert Cervera (London), Karen Maxted (Scotland), Susie Olczak (South East), Duncan Poulton (Midlands), Jonathan Michael Ray (South West) and Katie Tomlinson (North).
