About

Kunsthaus Zürich celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing with a group exhibition of 200 works, focusing on artists that have engaged with the Moon, from the Romantic era to the present day.

In support of the exhibition, Zabludowicz Collection is thrilled to be lending Amalia Pica's Moon Golem. By using a small circular mirror to reflect light toward the center of a framed photograph, Pica allows the viewer an insight into the least accessible public monument ever created. Fallen Astronaut, a small metal figure commissioned by David Scott and created by artist Paul van Hoeydonck, was placed on the surface of the Moon in 1971 by the crew of Apollo 15. It sits silently on the Moon's surface to commemorate all astronauts who have died on their mission to outer space.

Fly me to the Moon. The Moon landing:50 years on will be on view until 30 June 2019. More information is available on their website.
