About

Join us for the launch of our 2018 programme with the opening of two new exhibitions A Minute Ago and Zabludowicz Collection Invites: Siobhan Coen.

A Minute Ago is a group exhibition curated by MA students from Central St Martins, which considers the idea of ‘a moment’ through artistic practice: how do we experience a single moment in time, and how do we process, communicate, and reconstruct it. Including performances by live art practitioners and moving image work selected from the Zabludowicz Collection, the exhibition investigates the ways in which a moment can be interrogated through different art forms.

Siobhan Coen reworks components of digital communication to examine visual perception and unconscious control. In the installation Unknown Knowns Coen constructs an ‘evidence-based fiction’ from the spoken words of Donald Rumsfeld. An audio track plays out in a space saturated with shifting RGB light, causing a panoramic printed image of coloured pixels to pulse and morph in front of viewer’s eyes.
