About

For this special event as part of our The Stand-Ins exhibition, Brooklyn-based painter Robin F. Williams joins us for a live online conversation with Paul Luckraft (Senior Curator: Exhibitions).

Known for her large-scale paintings of stylized, sentient, yet ambiguously generated female figures, Williams employs a variety of techniques, including oil, airbrush, poured paint, marbling, and staining of raw canvas to create deeply textured and complexly constructed paintings.

Topics of discussion will include the role of narrative in William’s work, the attitude of the characters that appear, and the degree to which figurative painting today remains a site of experimentation, confrontation and surprise.

This conversation takes place on Zoom. Please register your interest via the booking button. The webinar link will be circulated to ticket holders prior to the event.
