Korakrit Arunanondchai

Korakrit Arunanondchai collages the effects of contemporary technologies with motifs from older forms of belief to create a complex in-between space, which he explores in video, performance and installation. Painting with history in a room filled with people with funny names 3 (I am a machine boosting energy into the universe), 2016, is a new installation that forms an epilogue to a trilogy of videos Arunanondchai embarked on in 2012. The video weaves original footage and found material that features elements of his own biography with that of a shaman-like alter ego and a quest for a deity amongst a mountain of broken hard drives, city rooftops, and a spectacular Buddhist temple.
