I was extremely happy to have the privilege of hosting Tate Patrons in Finland

We started the tour with some of Helsinki’s best museums. First stop, Ateneum where I discovered some wonderful artists such as Väinö Blomstedt. This painting really shows the sensitivity of the Finnish landscape in summer

Then Leevi Haapala hosted us at Kiasma

Where I finally got to see more regional art such as Kris Lemsalu from Estonia. ‘Star’, 2016 features a skydiver being worshipped by canines in a pool of CDs

Then it was a pleasure to see for the first time Artor Jesus Inkerö’s work. ‘Bubble’, 2017 features the artist as the main protagonist, having spent their university art grant on protein powders and a gym membership. Inkerö put on around twenty kilos of muscle mass. The artist’s main focus of research is body modification and the male

The next day we all arrived in a chilly but sunny Sarvisalo. Valentina Drouin and Mary Moore shine behind John Rafman’s marble sculpture

Then there was a chance to take a drink in the beautiful Finnish sunset at Sam Falls’ Boat House
