Surreal and Dramatic

24 March 2011

Two weeks roll into one - The NSPCC bash in the Whitehall Banqueting Suites was utterly magnificent. With the panache of Harry Blaine as chairman they managed to hit it off.
Everyone was dressed really surreal.

Gossip columns were picking up on gossip but I got the real scoop!
Then the Whitechapel Art + Drama event followed closely on its heels, with theatrical and dramatic events taking over the whole building.

I did also manage to check out some art as well as party all week...

Surreal and Dramatic
The stars of the show Harry Blaine and Kim Hersov. Keith Tyson, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Tim Noble and Sue Webster all very generously donated some magnificent works. Damien’s work went for over a million pounds which was bought by a young man no one had ever seen before from Paris, very mysterious.
Surreal and Dramatic
The magnificent Francis Sultana with Zaha Hadid and Dali ( I mean David) Gill ... the real deal!
Surreal and Dramatic
Look at the wonderful man with an apple IN his face!
Surreal and Dramatic
Melanie Clore once again was a sport and looked absolutely fabulous!
Surreal and Dramatic
These two girls looked great in their wigs and glasses.
Surreal and Dramatic
Even though not quite for the collection I thought that the work at Haunch of Venison by Meekyoung Shin is a must see - and smell! The works looked spectacular. Yes! You guessed it! It is made of soap!!!!!
Surreal and Dramatic
The Whitechapel party was also fun and games but this time theatre based. I bumped into Richard Braine my favourite family photographer and friend with his new mini-me by his side.
Surreal and Dramatic
Also at Whitechapel, the lovely Amanda Eliasch and her friend who was quite an original.
Surreal and Dramatic
I headed to Wendy Fishers lovely new refurbished stylish home where she was hosting a lovely evening with Investec. Tracey was the guest speaker and Wendy the interviewer which made for a most pleasant and interesting happening.
Surreal and Dramatic
And there was some art as well as party-ing this week - as usual at Alison Jaques Mathew Weir lived up to my expectations and we acquired another of his magnificent works for the collection.
