June was a busy month!

Assia Webster and I headed to Margate where a very proud Carl Freedman opened his new gallery with a wonderful show by Billy Childish

Sophie, Roy, Ryan and I felt like we were in the painting

Meanwhile back at London’s Emalin they were showing a groovy artist called Kembra Pfahler, their show ‘Rebel Without a Cock’ was in a world of its own

Then to our Zabludowicz Collection Invites opening where young artist Richard Ayodeji Ikhide was showing his wonderful paintings, presented in a warm yellow walled gallery - making us all smiley and happy

Frank Bowling’s opening at Tate was stunning - magical and powerful. We then had a lovely lunch at Hales gallery where Frank Bowling’s son Sacha gave an eloquent speech

Then a wonderful visit to Jerusalem where all the BFAMI ladies were out in force. Pamela Crystal, Marian Naggar, Denise Esfandi, Wendy Fisher and Janice Atkin

I felt like it was a wedding! Poju and I each received a fellowship from The Israel Museum, we were both honoured and very excited. We ended up chatting in my favourite bar in the world at the King David Hotel

In the meantime, Mathew Day Jackson was opening his show ‘MAA’ at Finland’s Gösta Serlachius Museum. It was very successful and I was so sad not to be there

At The Israel Museum ‘Manifesto’ by Julian Rosefeldt was incredible!

The multi-screen film starring Cate Blanchett who performs thirteen new texts written as monologues

We also visited the show ‘Victory over the Sun’ which presented some of the works by Avant-Garde masters in Russia from 1960 to 1980

Back in London Jamian Juliano-Villani had a wonderful opening of the show ‘Lets Kill Nicole’ at Massimo De Carlo. Jamian is such a young artist touching subconsciously on so many subjects including killing a bully or a friend

I finally received my Alex Israel suitcase which was a very exciting moment! Drawing directly from the colour palettes of Alex’s contemporary ‘Sky Backdrop’ paintings based on the LA sunset

We had a wonderful stay in Somerset for Ursula Hauser’s big birthday. She showed us her outstanding collection focusing entirely on female artists acquired over the last forty years, such as Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse, Sheila Hicks and Maria Lassnig. We stand in front of the big scary Louis Bourgeouis spider. What a great lady to have the vision so many years ago to recognise so many important artists and many of those artists were woman

Also last but not least I had time to drop by to Hauser & Wirth to view the incredible and vivid paintings by Keith Tyson at his show called ‘Life Still’
